{"id":9494,"date":"2018-08-28T10:00:07","date_gmt":"2018-08-28T14:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/?p=9494"},"modified":"2020-08-25T16:41:57","modified_gmt":"2020-08-25T20:41:57","slug":"3-keys-to-planning-womens-ministry-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/3-keys-to-planning-womens-ministry-event\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Keys to Planning a Successful Women\u2019s Ministry Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9499\" src=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/3-Keys-to-Planning-a-Successful-Womens-Ministry-Event.png\" alt=\"3 Keys to Planning a Successful Women's Ministry Event\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/3-Keys-to-Planning-a-Successful-Womens-Ministry-Event.png 600w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/3-Keys-to-Planning-a-Successful-Womens-Ministry-Event-200x300.png 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Planning a women\u2019s ministry event can be an overwhelming task.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There are so many moving parts.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, no amount of planning guarantees a great turnout.<\/p>\n<p>However, when we include these <strong>three keys to a successful women\u2019s ministry event<\/strong> we can be certain we\u2019ve done our best and we can trust God with the rest.<\/p>\n<h4>Event Planning Key #1 &#8211; Purpose<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Every women\u2019s ministry event should have a defined purpose.<\/strong> We can\u2019t hit the target if we don\u2019t know what we\u2019re aiming at.<\/p>\n<p>Your event\u2019s purpose needs to align with your <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/mission-statement\/\">women\u2019s ministry team mission statement<\/a> and your church\u2019s mission statement.<\/p>\n<p><em>Just because it\u2019s a great idea or it would be a lot of fun doesn\u2019t mean your team should do it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While it\u2019s certainly okay for an event\u2019s purpose to be fellowship, that doesn\u2019t mean we omit a teaching moment or a testimony. <strong>Our events must ultimately point women to Christ\/God.<\/strong> Don\u2019t miss the opportunity to make a difference in how someone spends eternity!<\/p>\n<h5>Ask yourself and your team:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>What is the purpose of this event idea?<\/li>\n<li>How does this event support our women\u2019s ministry mission statement?<\/li>\n<li>How does this event support the mission of our church?<\/li>\n<li>How will this event point women to Christ\/God?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And don\u2019t buy into that lie that you\u2019ll scare off your guests. Women have come to a <em>church event<\/em>. Don\u2019t have them leave thinking they didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<h4>Event Planning Key #2 &#8211; Prayer<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Prayer is an essential piece of event planning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not only do we want to pray for the details of our event and the attendees, but we should <strong>pray about what the event should be<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll never forget learning the difference between praying for direction and praying for God\u2019s blessing. (You can <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/prayer-direct-vs-bles\/\">read about that here.<\/a>) He knows what your women need. He knows what is best for your church and community. It seems there is always at least one woman, who despite our team\u2019s efforts \u201cnever heard about the event\u201d.<\/p>\n<h5>You need to cast your net wide.<\/h5>\n<p>Utilize every means possible to get the word out \u2013 social media, church bulletins, signs in the bathroom stalls, and email lists.
