{"id":6845,"date":"2017-01-31T10:00:54","date_gmt":"2017-01-31T15:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/?p=6845"},"modified":"2019-07-01T10:26:14","modified_gmt":"2019-07-01T14:26:14","slug":"how-to-minister-to-angry-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/how-to-minister-to-angry-women\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Minister to Angry Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6847\" src=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/How-to-Minister-to-Angry-Women.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/How-to-Minister-to-Angry-Women.png 600w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/How-to-Minister-to-Angry-Women-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/How-to-Minister-to-Angry-Women-400x600.png 400w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/How-to-Minister-to-Angry-Women-300x450.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Turn on your TV, open up Facebook, scroll through Twitter and you\u2019ll come across an increasing amount of angry comments and posts.<\/p>\n<h4>Women in our churches are picking sides and picking up signs.<\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>They are protesting instead of praying.<\/p>\n<p>They are passionate about their cause and insist their position is the only one of truth.<\/p>\n<p>Many are just plain mad.<\/p>\n<p>While it may be tempting to turn a blind eye, take a social media sabbatical, and unfriend that woman that\u2019s no longer friendly, I believe <strong>God has given us an opportunity to reach out and love the women He has placed in our path<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>God\u2019s Word has an awful lot to say about anger:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=proverbs+15%3A1&amp;version=ESV\">Proverbs 15:1<\/a> &#8211; \u201cA soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=psalm+37%3A8&amp;version=ESV\">Psalm 37:8<\/a> \u201cRefrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=james+1%3A20&amp;version=ESV\">James 1:20<\/a> \u201cFor the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=ecc+7%3A9&amp;version=ESV\">Ecclesiastes 7:9<\/a> \u201cBe not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=prov+29%3A11&amp;version=ESV\">Proverbs 29:11<\/a> \u201cA fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=ephesians+4%3A26-27&amp;version=ESV\">Ephesians 4:26-27<\/a> \u201cBe angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We recognize it\u2019s a sin that easily ensnares us and our fellow sisters but how can we respond to the angry women in our churches and community?<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6850\" src=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/8-Ways-to-Minister-to-Angry-Women.png\" alt=\"8 Ways to Minister to Angry Women\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/8-Ways-to-Minister-to-Angry-Women.png 600w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/8-Ways-to-Minister-to-Angry-Women-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/h4>\n<h4>8 Ways to Minister to Angry Women<\/h4>\n<h5>1. Pray<\/h5>\n<p>This tops the list because it is truly our most powerful weapon. Pray for them and pray with them. We need to pray for women who are hurt, for hearts to be softened, for gentle responses, and for unity. Plan a prayer event for your community and\/or nation. Provide prayer prompts focused on revival, praying for the wisdom of our leaders. Lead a time of fasting and focusing on the Lord.<\/p>\n<h5>2. Point<\/h5>\n<p>Point them to Jesus \u2013 not news stories, videos, or quotes. Jesus is the only one who can change, save, and heal them.<\/p>\n<h5>3. Preach<\/h5>\n<p>Lovingly preach the Word \u2013 We may think women know that anger is a sin, but do we teach that? Do our women know what God says about anger? Are we encouraging our women to confess and repent?<\/p>\n<h5>4. Mentor<\/h5>\n<p>Encourage and equip your women to step up to the directive in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Titus+2%3A+3-5&amp;version=ESV\">Titus 2<\/a> to mentor others. We need women who can model joy, point us towards the Truth, and can lovingly listen. We need to hear from and see women who respond to situations with the fruit of the Spirit.<\/p>\n<h5>5. Serve<\/h5>\n<p>We can provide opportunities for our women to serve&nbsp;in our community. Rally together and assemble <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/mission-project-operation-sandwich\/\">1000 sandwiches for the homeless<\/a>, work together to create <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/local-mission-project-idea-no-sew-fleece-blankets\/\">no-sew fleece blankets<\/a> for the women at the abuse shelter, put together toiletry packets for women rescued from <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/sex-trafficking-priceless-movie\/\">sex trafficking rings<\/a>. Witnessing first-hand injustices in our community can provide a much needed shift in our perspective.<\/p>\n<h5>6. Unite<\/h5>\n<p>Find a common denominator \u2013 In your Bible study group focus on each woman\u2019s desire to study God\u2019s Word and redirect the conversation as necessary. Your MOPS moms are all moms seeking to be the mom God\u2019s called them to be. You may stand on opposite sides of an issue, but you likely have more in common than not. Use <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/icebreakers-games\/\">icebreaker games<\/a> to connect women with similar experiences.<\/p>\n<h5>7. Model<\/h5>\n<p>Set a Godly example. Our women are watching to see how we\u2019ll respond. May they be able to say that we\u2019ve responded with love, Truth, and grace. May our response, if any, be prayerful and point others to Christ.<\/p>\n<h5>8. Connect<\/h5>\n<p>Reach out and connect with that woman who has stopped going to church in recent months. Send a <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/notecard-stress\/\">note card<\/a> with a message of encouragement. Let the women you know are struggling that you are praying for them and that you miss them.<\/p>\n<h4>As followers of Christ we have the opportunity and responsibility to step in and minister to angry women.<\/h4>\n<p>&#8220;Let all that you do be done in love.&#8221;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+corinthians+16%3A14&amp;version=ESV\">1 Corinthians 16:14<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>What will you do to minister to the angry women in your church and community?<\/h4>\n<p><em>Please note this post in not intended to start a debate or discussion about any issues.
