The answers will impact your planning for all future events!\" class=\"wp-image-13113\" srcset=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/The-Most-Revealing-Question-You-Can-Ask-After-an-Event-1.png 600w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/The-Most-Revealing-Question-You-Can-Ask-After-an-Event-1-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/The-Most-Revealing-Question-You-Can-Ask-After-an-Event-1-400x600.png 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A couple of weeks ago our <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/student-pastor-wants-you-to-know\/\">Youth Pastor<\/a> asked me a question about a past Youth event that proved to be <em>incredibly revealing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a question I know you\u2019ll find to be valuable as your team completes a women&#8217;s ministry event assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had participated in an event with another church a few months before and he asked me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>What do you remember about that event?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He wasn\u2019t looking for a super-spiritual response, but my gut reaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What stood out most to me from that event?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My response was \u201cthe octopus\u201d.&nbsp; <em>For those who are curious, we had a messy game of Ultimate Football with a dead octopus. Um\u2026yeah\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chances are many of our students would have had the same response\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m a big believer in working through a <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/post-event-evaluation-form\/\">Post Event Evaluation Form<\/a> immediately after an event to capture those details that are fresh on our team\u2019s minds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">However, I had never considered reflecting several months after the event to evaluate how well the purpose of the event was perceived.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Until now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I want to encourage you to do the following exercise with your team at your next meeting.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Look back at your calendar and <strong>pick an event that occurred somewhere between 3 and 6 months prior<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Go around the room and <strong>ask each team member to write down 1 or 2 things they remember about that event<\/strong>. Then have each team member read their answer out loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. <strong>Discuss whether or not that event resulted in the desired outcome.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may want to encourage conversation with one or more of the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Did the event glorify God?<\/li><li>Were women\u2019s lives changed?<\/li><li>Were women drawn closer to Jesus?<\/li><li>Did the event encourage women in their walk with Christ?<\/li><li>Did we offer something the world cannot?<\/li><li>What spiritual needs of our women did we address?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You may find that the emphasis or <strong>desired outcome was not as your team expected<\/strong>. Or you may find you were <strong>right on target<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This exercise can be especially helpful for annual events such as a <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/table-event-teams\/\">Table Event<\/a>, which can often take on a life of their own!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The women\u2019s ministry team at one of our previous churches hosts an annual <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/table-event-teams\/\">Table Event<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wish I had asked that team and some of our women what they remembered about the Table Event.
