This is especially true if your church is smaller.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to look for in a leader:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compassionate<\/li>\n<li>Prayerful<\/li>\n<li>Sensitive to the Holy Spirit<\/li>\n<li>Able to lead someone to Christ<\/li>\n<li>Mature<\/li>\n<li>Good listener<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve prayerfully recruited your discussion group leaders, you&#8217;ll want to bring them all together before the retreat for some training and information sharing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training topics you\u00a0may want to cover:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>How to get quiet women to speak up<\/li>\n<li>How to handle dominating group members<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with divisive topics (politics, breastfeeding, worship music, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>When to notify leadership (abusive situation, suicidal thoughts, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Resources available for group leaders to use<\/li>\n<li>Expectations for the weekend<\/li>\n<li>Materials leaders will have to guide the discussion<\/li>\n<li>Group logistics \u2013 how many members, how many sessions, for how long, where their group will meet<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you are allowing your women to choose their groups each session, you need to make clear who your group leaders are.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to assign\u00a0each group leaders a\u00a0specific table or room for their group to meet in.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure your discussion group leaders know who the other leaders are. You might even want to note it on their name tags.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don&#8217;t forget to\u00a0pray with and over your discussion group leaders.<\/strong> They will likely be a part of several intimate conversations over the weekend.
