The future of your women\u2019s ministry is meeting down the hall in the Youth Room.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yep, those girls down the hallway on their phones will soon graduate and will be checking your \u201cwomen\u2019s ministry\u201d.<\/p>\n

Will they feel welcome? <\/em><\/p>\n

Are there things your team could be doing right now to plant the seeds so they\u2019ll want to participate?<\/em><\/p>\n

About six years ago God opened the door for my husband and I to teach the Junior class at our (then) church home. Honestly, I wasn\u2019t so sure about it.<\/em> To say I did not have a good middle or high school experience\u00a0is a bit of an understatement…<\/p>\n

But God knew it was where I needed to be. I can now say honestly, that I love working with Youth<\/strong>. So much so our whole family spent the week at Youth Camp this summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I see the value now in including our\u00a0teen girls in women\u2019s ministry. We need to make women\u2019s ministry something they feel part of before they ever graduate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If they see women\u2019s ministry as a closed door, they may decide it\u2019s not one worth opening.<\/em><\/p>\n

10 ways we can include teen girls in women\u2019s ministry:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Invite them to participate in missions projects. Our Youth girls were invited to come and help out with Operation Sandwich <\/a>in the spring.<\/li>\n
  2. Personally invite them to come to the women\u2019s ministry banquet or conference if the topic is appropriate.<\/li>\n
  3. Enlist their help with decorating for events they are invited to.<\/li>\n
  4. Consider asking them to serve as hostesses. Hopefully they\u2019ll leave excited and interested in participating in women\u2019s ministry.<\/li>\n
  5. Offer a Bible study geared toward teen girls.<\/li>\n
  6. Create a Beauty Bootcamp or Spa Night <\/a>for the girls. Share make-up tips, give manicures, etc.<\/li>\n
  7. Host a Fashion Show where modesty reigns. Bring in a Christian\u00a0Image Consultant\u00a0(find one here<\/a>) and learn about the latest fashion trends and tips together.<\/li>\n
  8. Hold a Computer and Social Media Workshop. Gather some tech-savvy teens to teach it for you. I know they\u2019d be happy to help other women set up Instagram and Twitter accounts.<\/li>\n
  9. Serve and volunteer with the Youth. Teach a class. Chaperone an event. Host a Youth event at your home. Go with them to camp. Provide a meal.<\/li>\n
  10. Support the Youth. Attend their fundraising events and performances. Just being present shows support and interest.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Number 5, adding a Bible study for teens, is a prayer that is heavy on my heart.<\/strong> I\u2019ve already shared with our Women\u2019s Ministry Leader that I want to lead a summer Bible study for our Youth girls. I\u2019m prayerfully reading through several books to determine what God would have us use.<\/p>\n

    Nicole is very real and transparent in sharing her struggles with depression and finding her faith and purpose in Christ. I think teens will find her stories, experiences, and advice very relatable and useful.<\/p>\n
