Here's why I don't do Bible games.\" class=\"wp-image-12991\" srcset=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Why-I-Dont-Do-Bible-Games-1.png 600w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Why-I-Dont-Do-Bible-Games-1-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Why-I-Dont-Do-Bible-Games-1-400x600.png 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I opened up Pinterest recently and groaned when I saw the Bible games in my feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know you\u2019ve seen them \u2013 Bible Jeopardy, Bible Trivia, Match the Bible Couples, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bible games are great for people who know the Bible. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who\u2019ve had a chance to finish every lesson and attend every small group session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who grew up in the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who have been in Bible study for years on end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bible games make those we want to reach run in the opposite direction.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The very people we want to reach, that we want to attend our event, leave feeling like they:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Aren\u2019t not enough<\/li><li>Have soooo much to learn<\/li><li>Can\u2019t compete<\/li><li>Don\u2019t fit in<\/li><li>That they\u2019ll never catch up<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I don\u2019t know about you, but <em>I don\u2019t want any woman at any event to leave feeling less than.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I want women to leave feeling loved, wanted, valued, and smart!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please, please think twice before you play a Bible game at your next Women\u2019s Ministry event, Sunday school class, or small group meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Always expect visitors.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Assume there will be women in attendance that <strong>do not own a Bible<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That won\u2019t know that there is more than one Mary in the Bible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That won\u2019t have a wealth of Bible trivia at their fingertips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When God gives us the opportunity to love one another, let\u2019s make sure we do just that.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I step down off my soapbox, let me say <strong>there is a time and place for Bible games.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bible games can be an effective way to reinforce <em>what was just taught<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We played many of them with our Youth during Sunday school lessons, but we focused on the material from the lesson that we had just taught that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you want to gather for a friendly game of Bible Trivia with your friends, please do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for a game or icebreaker to play with your group, I encourage you to check out my <a title=\"Icebreakers &amp; Games\" href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/icebreakers-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Icebreakers &amp; Games page<\/a>. <em>You&#8217;ll find lots of visitor-friendly ideas there!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Your turn to share: What do you think?
