Other teams host teas at Christmas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this post, I&#8217;m sharing the details of our <strong>Mother&#8217;s Day Tea<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our event schedule<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our event details<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gift and door prize ideas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to host a table event<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Icebreaker ideas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Including younger and single women<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our former church in North Carolina had an incredible turnout year after year for our Mother&#8217;s Day Tea,&nbsp;usually exceeding our expectations and seating capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading advgb-dyn-dafb77eb\">Schedule:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to better accommodate the crowd, this particular year we <strong>hosted the Tea twice<\/strong> \u2013 once at 10 AM and again at 2 PM. The event lasted no more than 2 hours, giving us plenty of time to restock the food and reset the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As in most years, all mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends were invited to attend. We rarely put an age limit on the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading advgb-dyn-d723a467\">Event Details:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theme:<\/strong> Steeped in Him<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration Fee:<\/strong> $6 (covered cost of food and most, if not all other expenses)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>D\u00e9cor:<\/strong> Teapots and teacups and saucers gathered from homes and purchased at thrift stores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our menu:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vegetarian Quiches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peanut Butter and Jelly Uncrustables<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Freshly Cut Vegetables<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fresh Fruit Salad<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scones<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assorted Tea Cakes (cookies)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Petits Fours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chocolate Dipped Strawberries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prayer and Welcome<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tea Time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Special Crafts and Photos<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Story Time (for little ones)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speaker 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speaker 2 (feedback was 1 speaker was plenty)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prayer and Dismissal<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Favor:<\/strong> Custom-made tea bags with our theme, verse, and logo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Favorite Feature:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/photo-booth-ideas-for-your-retreat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Photo Booth<\/a> \u2013 one of our women let us borrow a large box of fancy tea and derby-type hats. Our decorating team set up a beautiful backdrop with white chairs. We uploaded the photos online for all to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Icebreaker Game:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/mothers-day-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pass the Package<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crafts for the kids:<\/strong> Paperfolding Victorian fans and tea-themed coloring pages<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back, there are two things I would do differently:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One of our time slots was much lower in attendance than the other. We definitely should have removed the extra tables so it didn&#8217;t look quite as empty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/photo-booth-ideas-for-your-retreat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">photo booth<\/a> was a HUGE hit &#8211; but it needed to be a little taller and a little wider to hide the fellowship hall wall.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading advgb-dyn-7c05f82e\">Hosting a Tea with Table Hosts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many teams prefer to enlist the help of table hostesses. Your team may want to examine whether or not your younger women and single women are attending. If so, why not? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is your tea lacking the depth that many women are looking for?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is the focus on the decor and dressing up (including wearing hats)?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Simple changes such as bringing in a younger speaker, relaxing the dress code, emphasizing the biblical message, including a service project, and taking the focus off of motherhood (if it&#8217;s a Mother&#8217;s Day Tea) can <strong>expand your reach<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Even changing the name of your event from a &#8220;tea&#8221; to a luncheon, breakfast, or fellowship may draw a wider group of women.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What tips do you have for hosting a tea?
