There\u2019s something powerful about looking back and seeing how God was at work in our family. We can see His faithfulness through difficult seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back over your ministry year can have those same benefits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We often miss what God is doing in the moment, but can see it more clearly when we take the time to pause and ponder.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve found that <strong>specific reflection questions encourage specific recollections.<\/strong> Details are more helpful than generalizations as we seek to move our ministry forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve got some specific reflection questions you may want to use with your team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you begin the process of looking back, I want to encourage you to <strong>take out your ministry calendar from this last year.<\/strong> Pull out those <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/post-event-evaluation-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">post-event evaluation forms<\/a> if you have them too. Write down some of the highlights from this past ministry year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Invite your team to look at the last year through the lens of your mission statement. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t have a mission statement, now\u2019s a great time to create one! <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/womens-ministry-mission-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Check out this post<\/a> for help in crafting a great mission statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consider asking some of these reflection questions:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Did your events and activities <strong>support your mission statement<\/strong>?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Were there any <strong>gaps<\/strong> you need to fill next year?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How did you see <strong>God\u2019s faithfulness<\/strong> throughout your ministry plans?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did any of your women or Bible study groups <strong>experience growth<\/strong> \u2013 in size and spiritually?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did you <strong>start a new ministry initiative<\/strong>? If so, how did it go?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What do you want to make sure you <strong>don\u2019t forget<\/strong>?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Need some help creating a survey? Be sure you check out <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/need-to-know-about-womens-ministry-surveys\/\">this post<\/a>. Your team may want to adapt some of the questions from that post for your time of reflection or use the ones below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here are three you may want to use:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the last year, what did our women\u2019s ministry team do that we should <em>keep<\/em> doing?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the last year, what did our women\u2019s ministry team do that we should <em>stop<\/em> doing?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the next year, what does our women\u2019s ministry team need to <em>start <\/em>doing?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven\u2019t surveyed your women lately, consider creating an online survey for their input too. You might be surprised at the things that matter most to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you consider what went well in the last year, I want to encourage you to <strong>move forward with purpose<\/strong>. Sit down with your team and plan out your ministry year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our women\u2019s ministry team will be going on a <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/how-to-plan-a-womens-ministry-team-retreat\/\">team retreat<\/a> at the end of January. It\u2019s a time for us to plan and pray about what God wants next for our women and our ministry. Perhaps before your team starts placing ideas on your ministry calendar, you want to take the time to pause and pray too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t take much to fill our women\u2019s ministry calendars with ideas \u2013 you\u2019ll find hundreds of them shared in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/womensministrytoolboxcommunity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Women\u2019s Ministry Toolbox Facebook group<\/a>, on the Women\u2019s Ministry Toolbox website, in my book <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4aIGVL9\">Rethinking Fellowship<\/a>, and on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/womensministrytoolbox\/_created\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pinterest<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While God can and will use the plans we\u2019ve made, <strong>I\u2019ve experienced the difference it makes when we take the time to prayerfully seek what God wants us to do.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I\u2019ve spent time praying and in the Word asking God to give our team a specific verse to guide our plans, it\u2019s made a BIG difference. Our plans weren\u2019t random but intentional as each one was <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/how-to-select-your-womens-ministry-theme-or-scripture-focus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>connected by the thread of a focus verse<\/strong><\/a>. Our ministry efforts and <strong>team operated in unity<\/strong> with the same objective. Our women benefited as we followed the Lord\u2019s leading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If selecting a focus verse or theme is a new idea to you, I want to encourage you to <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/how-to-select-your-womens-ministry-theme-or-scripture-focus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">check out this pos<\/a>t where I share my process in greater detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you\u2019d like to lead with greater purpose this next year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.teachable.com\/p\/womens-ministry-makeover-training-video-onlyhttps:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.teachable.com\/p\/womens-ministry-makeover-training-video-only\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Women\u2019s Ministry Makeover<\/a> is just what you need.<\/strong> Over 8 lessons we\u2019ll take a look at how God might want to makeover your ministry with an addition, a minor renovation, or maybe a little demolition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Scroll to the bottom of the post for a video that contains a sneak peek of what I&#8217;ll be sharing in the Women&#8217;s Ministry Makeover.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our planning process doesn\u2019t need to look like throwing spaghetti at a wall, instead, we can be throwing well-aimed darts at a target. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p> Whether your ministry is new or established, expect God to reveal how you and your team can make your ministry more effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=proverbs+3%3A5-6&amp;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Proverbs 3:5-6 <\/a>says, Trust in the\u00a0Lord\u00a0with all your heart,\u00a0and\u00a0do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways\u00a0acknowledge him,\u00a0and he\u00a0will make straight your paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seeking and following the Lord\u2019s direction in our ministries is the best way we can move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Today\u2019s Toolbox Tasks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plan some time with your team to <strong>celebrate last year<\/strong> and <strong>make notes for this n<\/strong>ext year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prayerfully consider<\/strong> what new things or changes God may be asking your team to make in the new year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider posting some of your <strong>ministry highlights on social media<\/strong> so your women can celebrate with you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Register for the <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.teachable.com\/p\/womens-ministry-makeover-training-video-only\">Women&#8217;s Ministry Makeover<\/a> training today!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">God has great plans for your ministry for this next year.
