Please don&#8217;t!<\/p>\n<h4>Despite the advent of social media, women&#8217;s ministry newsletters are still an essential tool for regularly connecting with your women.<\/h4>\n<p>While it used to be that we&#8217;d mail each woman a newsletter and place extra copies in the women&#8217;s bathroom, nowadays, <strong>most women&#8217;s ministry teams send out their newsletters via email.<\/strong> (If you need some help setting up an email list for your women&#8217;s ministry, <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/womens-ministry-email-list-service-options\/\">check out this post<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<h3>What are some of the benefits of a women&#8217;s ministry newsletter?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Newsletters can <strong>reach every woman<\/strong> in your church. While not every woman may be on social media, almost every woman in your church has an email address.<\/li>\n<li>Newsletters provide a way for your team to <strong>communicate important information on upcoming events<\/strong>. Women need lots of reminders.<\/li>\n<li>When sent out regularly, women <strong>begin to expect<\/strong> and look for your newsletter in their inbox.<\/li>\n<li>Welcoming team members can include the latest newsletter when <strong>contacting guests<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Newsletters provide <strong>more space to communicate information<\/strong> than an email or a social media post.<\/li>\n<li>Newsletters can <strong>reinforce your <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/how-to-select-a-theme\/\">theme or Scripture verse focus<\/a><\/strong> for the year.<\/li>\n<li>Newsletters provide an opportunity for <strong>women with the gift of writing to serve<\/strong> in your women&#8217;s ministry.<\/li>\n<li>Newsletters can provide a reader-friendly format. <strong>Women are more likely to read through a newsletter than a lengthy email.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How often should you send out your newsletter?<\/h3>\n<p>I would suggest your team <strong>send out a newsletter at least quarterly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If your team has the bandwidth and the need, a newsletter every other month or monthly may be better for your women.<\/p>\n<h3>What should you include in your newsletter?<\/h3>\n<p>While there are many things you could include, here are some things <strong>you may want to include in every issue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>The message of salvation<\/strong> \u2013 women need to know how they can enter into a relationship with our Savior. Your pastor should be able to point you to some resources if you need specific wording assistance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact information<\/strong> for your Women&#8217;s Ministry including links to social media accounts and an email address.<\/li>\n<li>A list of your <strong>team members with roles noted.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Calendar<\/strong> of upcoming events so they can <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/save-date-cards\/\">save the date<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Past event summary<\/strong> \u2013 let them know what they&#8217;ve been missing!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mission needs<\/strong> \u2013 any donation collections or <a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/60-service-project-ideas\/\">service opportunities<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Detailed <strong>upcoming event<\/strong> information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>You may also want to include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>A letter or devotional<\/strong> from you or one of your team members<\/li>\n<li><strong>Encouraging verse<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/womensministrytoolbox.com\/how-to-select-a-theme\/\"><strong>Theme and verse<\/strong><\/a> for the year<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recipe<\/strong> from a recent event<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Please be sure you receive permission from the author to reprint anything you&#8217;ve found online or in a book. Be sure you give credit too.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>What should you use to create your newsletter?<\/h3>\n<p>The answer <strong>depends on your distribution method<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are using an email service like Mailchimp or <a href=\"https:\/\/flodesk.com\/c\/43Z53V\">Flodesk<\/a> (affiliate link),&nbsp;you can create beautiful templates that can be re-used each month. The great thing about this option is that your newsletter will be mobile-friendly \u2013 women will easily be able to see and read it on their phone.<\/p>\n<p>If you are only able to send out emails and attachments to the women in your church, you&#8217;ll want to design a <strong>newsletter template<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canva is an excellent source for newsletter inspiration.<\/strong> Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/templates\/search\/newsletter\/\">newsletter templates on Canva here<\/a>.
