\"Need<\/p>\n

I frequently receive requests for women’s ministry themes.<\/p>\n

If you’ve tried to search the site for a list, you’ve likely found there isn’t one.<\/p>\n

When it comes to telling you what your theme or focus should be, well, this is one area in which I am certain God does not want me to offer a list of options or ideas.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve personally and repeatedly experienced the difference<\/strong> in event and women\u2019s ministry themes that came about from seeking the Lord\u2019s direction through prayer and His Word and ones that did not.<\/p>\n

I want God\u2019s best for you, for your ministry, and your women!<\/em><\/p>\n

Why I Don\u2019t Share a List of Women\u2019s Ministry Themes<\/h3>\n

1. God has something specific in mind for your specific women in your specific church.<\/h4>\n

I know from personal experience that He will reveal a specific scripture verse or topic if you earnestly pray, listen, and read the Word. It\u2019s never been what I would have picked on my own.<\/strong> Not ever.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know what your women need at your next event. I don\u2019t know what message they need to hear or what verse God wants to impress upon their hearts.<\/p>\n

I know they need to learn how to pray<\/a> and how to read the Bible<\/a> on their own – so I do offer materials and training to address both those needs.<\/p>\n

But as for your verse or theme for your year or event, only God knows.<\/p>\n

Can God use a theme you\u2019ve found online? Sure, He can. He is God, after all.<\/p>\n

But how much better would a verse or theme from the Lord, specific to the needs of your specific women be?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t want you to miss what the Lord has planned for your women. Ever.<\/p>\n

2. Many themes are focused more on the d\u00e9cor, than on the message.<\/h4>\n

While it can be fun (for some) to coordinate your d\u00e9cor, devotional, food, and game, that\u2019s not what most your women want or need.<\/p>\n

Last fall I conducted a survey over of 1100 women<\/a> about women\u2019s ministry events.<\/p>\n

Over and over again they expressed their dislike for events with an emphasis on d\u00e9cor and \u201cfluff.\u201d<\/strong> The word \u201ccheesy\u201d came up repeatedly. They\u2019ll take a pass on cutesy every single time.<\/p>\n

As one woman said, \u201cSadly, there is much fluff and no substance. Lots of time, effort, energy put into the theme, setup, decorating but the teachings are often shallow.\u201d<\/p>\n

And she was not alone in expressing her dislike for events that looked more like Vacation Bible School than an event for women.<\/p>\n

While God might eventually lead you to a kit in a box or a pin on Pinterest, we miss out when we neglect to seek His direction first.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we use God\u2019s Word as the cornerstone for our events, we show our women the value of God\u2019s Word.<\/h4>\n

The next time you need to select a theme for your event or women\u2019s ministry year, I pray you\u2019ll look to the Lord and ask Him to show you what your women need.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.\u201d James 1:5<\/a><\/p>\n

He is faithful.<\/p>\n
